Life is Grand

Been home a week since Brazil wrapped up and have loved every second of it. Brazil was a pretty wild event, congrats to Jadson Andre on the win. He was going nuts on those lefts throwing away eights in every heat. For me now this is a much needed break. The past few months have been pretty full on and I am ready to just go surf and relax. I felt good in Brazil and was feeling a big result but ran in to my old mate Taylor Knox in the fourth round and he got me. So for the start of the year I’ve had two 9th’s and a second which has me currently sitting in fourth place on the ratings. I feel like I’m surfing well but I have been making silly mistakes in heats that have cost me big time. But the way I see it, I’ll get the bad ones out of the way early, learn from my mistakes and get ready to fire when the break is finished. I am taking this time off now to clear the head, maybe change up some little things, look for some magic boards and hopefully hit J-Bay and the rest of the year like a bull on the charge. It is a great time of the year to be home, we get a fair few southerly swells and the banks are looking the goods. Going to work with Darren Handley on and get some new crafts and just enjoy the hell out of being at home with my beautiful wife and my legendary dog! Gonna be good to catch up with my mates and have a laugh too. Been scoring some fun little waves at D-Bah, here’s a few snaps courtesy of my mate Simon Williams…
